How do I use Stackable Coupons?

Stackable coupons or stacking coupons means that you use two coupons for a single item. Using the right combination of coupons, and if you are lucky combining them with a sale or a store that doubles or even triples coupons, can get you free or close to free items!

You do have to watch what type of coupons you combine when applying them both to a single item. Since most manufacturer coupons have a limit of one coupon per item you usually can’t use two manufacturer coupons for a single item. This information should all be in the fine print on the coupon. The most common way of stacking coupons is to combine a manufacturer coupon with a store coupon. The most common types of stores that offer store coupons are grocery stores and drugstores. These store coupons can often be found in the store’s weekly sales ad. Of course stores have different policies on whether they let you stack coupons in this way, so be sure to check with them first.

This is how it works – let’s say that there is some canned soup regular priced at $2.00. You have a manufacturer coupon for $.50 off. There was also a store coupon in this week’s circular for $.25 off. We will assume that this store does not double coupons.

$2.00 (original cost) – $.50 (manufacturer coupon) – $.25 (store coupon) = $1.25

Let’s use the same example to see how double coupons and a sale would let us save even more.

$1.50 (soup sale price) – $1.00 (manufacturer coupon doubled) – $.25 (store coupon – this are usually not doubled) = $.25!!!

This is a great deal and a great time to stock up on the soup if you have the room and multiple coupons. You can get multiple coupons by either purchasing additional coupons online, trading coupons online to get the coupons you need, or participating in a coupon train. Be sure also to check online to see if there are any printable coupons available. These are the type of sales that we bargain-hunters live for!

Tip: You can often stack online coupon codes at your favorite online merchant as well! Just apply two codes and see if they work together.
