Recipe Swaps
I LOVE to try new recipes and I’ve recently participated in my first recipe swap. Recipe swaps (also called recipe exchanges) have really been going on for years I have many childhood memories of my mom writing down her sister’s recipe on an index card at the kitchen table. The concept of recipe swaps remain the same – you are exchanging recipes with anywhere from 1 to hundreds of individuals. But with the Internet it’s never been easier to find others who want to exchange recipes and you can easily collect recipes from all over the world.
In most recipe swaps you will be asked to send out a certain number of recipes to the people in your recipe swap. Depending on the swap it may be a certain type of cuisine or type of food. With some recipe swaps anything goes – these are great because you will get everyone’s favorite recipes. You usually either send out the recipes via email or post them to the recipe swap forum.
It’s very easy to join a recipe swap and here are a few recipe swap groups to get you started.
Remember that each recipe swap has their own rules for the swap. Be courteous by sending out your recipes by the deadline and letting your group know how great their recipes were!
