Get Paid to Do Test Drives
Did you know that you can get paid for test driving new cars and other vehicles? Automobile test drives require that you test drive a certain vehicle and have the dealer sign a certificate saying that you did the test drive. In return you can get cash, gift certificates, or other types of merchandise. A typical offer I just did was for a $25 gift card for a particular retailer although I have done $100 cash ones in the past.
Finding these automobile test drives can be a little bit tricky. They change constantly and different manufacturers offer them at different times. Centsible has a test drive forum where you can find updated automobile test drive offers.
It’s also a good idea to visit the car manufacturer sites and get on their mailing lists. I have received many test drive certificates in the mail without requesting them; they sent it to me because I was already in their database. A few tips for your automobile test drive:
- Read the small print – make sure that you are reading the details of the offer. Know what type of vehicle you have to drive and what you need to get back from the dealer to prove that you took the test drive (most require a signature and business card). Also be aware of the expiration dates. Usually there is a date that the test drive needs to be completed by and then a date that the certificate needs to be postmarked by.
- Test drives require a driver’s license so have that out and ready to show to the dealer.
- Be honest at the dealership – show the dealer the certificate and let them know that you are here for a test drive and need them to fill out the form afterwards. They will appreciate your honesty and they will stick around when you are done with the test drive.
- Fill out the certificate completely – make sure that everything is filled in before you mail it in and you have enclosed any other required documents. It’s also a good idea to make a copy/scan of the completed certificate before you mail it in.
