Grocery Store Double Coupons

Coupons alone can get you some great discounts at the grocery store. There are a lot of grocery stores that offer double coupons every day, all day. These can be especially powerful if you combine them with a sale or find a promotion that will give you even greater coupon doubling power!

Doubling coupons work just like how they sound – it doubles the amount of the coupon. Let’s say you have a coupon for $.25 off a popular brand of shampoo. If your grocery store doubles coupons, then you will get $.50 off that shampoo. Double coupons combined with a sale can save you even more.

Let’s say the shampoo is on sale this week for $2.00. Sale price of $2.00 – $.50 doubled coupon = $1.50. There are usually restrictions on how high they will double. My local grocery store only doubles coupons up to $.50. So if I have a coupon that’s $.55 then they won’t double it, it will stand as it is. All grocery stores have different policies on if they double or not and what the restrictions are on it so be sure to call or ask before trying it out.

Sometimes grocery stores will run coupon promotions. There is one weekend every summer that my grocery store offers “Super Double Coupons”. This means that they will double coupons up to $1.00 instead of $.50. So this means if they have that shampoo on sale for $2.00 and I have $1.00 coupon (which they double to $2.00), then I get the item for free!

I’ve also seen promotions for Triple coupons as well which usually still have restrictions. The best way to find out about these promotions is to pick up or look online at your weekly sales ad. These promotions will often be highlighted on the front page of the ad, making them hard to miss.
